After 16 years as one of the country’s most beloved tarot conferences, North Star has transformed into something entirely new—an intimate retreat where the boundary between teacher and participant begins to dissolve.

A weekend deep in the woods. Six meals shared at common tables. Two nights of rest under the same roof. Tarot woven through every moment—not performed for you, but created with you.

We are drawing teachers and presenters from within our own circle, keeping costs accessible while deepening what becomes possible when a community turns inward together. Our Master Teacher guides the arc of the weekend, while interludes with fellow participants open unexpected doorways into the cards.

This is North Star re imagined: smaller, deeper, more alive. A hermitage for those who wish to step away from the noise and into tarot as a living practice shared among kindred seekers.

Born in 2008 from the Reader’s Studio tradition, North Star gathered for years in deep winter to honor Brigid and Imbolc. We found light in the dark. We birthed decks, books, theater, and lasting bonds. Now we are creating something that can only happen when a community knows itself well enough to teach itself.
